Chelsea FC head coach Liam Rosenoir has shared his thoughts on the best position for English midfielder Cole Palmer to play in.
In a press conference ahead of Chelsea’s English Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, February 7 at 15:00 GMT, Rosenoir said Cole Palmer’s “best position” is “on the pitch” with the statement alluding to Palmer’s creativity.
After a stellar performance in the first half of the 2024-2025 season, Palmer’s performance dropped off in the second half and the trend has continued this season with the former Manchester City player struggling for form and fitness.
Amid concerns over Palmer’s play, there have been questions raised about the best position to play Palmer to get the best out of him but Rosenoir believes the best way to get the best out of Palmer is for him to be on the pitch.

“We have the best medical team in the world and the best sports science team in the world and we want to make sure the players can play to the level needed to help us win.”

“There isn’t a time frame – that he’s going to be perfect in one month or two or three – it’s just game by game. His best position is on the pitch” Rosenoir said.
