Former Sports Minister, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, says he will not support the idea of government airlifting supporters to the USA, Canada and Mexico to cheer on the Black Stars at the FIFA World Cup.
He referenced the findings of the Dzamefe Commission, which advised against the use of public funds for such initiatives.
Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye made these comments on Thursday, February, 5, 2026, in response to recent remarks by Sports Minister Kofi Adams on flying supporters to the World Cup, insisting that any such initiative should be driven by corporate support, in line with the fundraising committee that has been set up to mobilise resources for the exercise.
