Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani has explained his decision to start Solomon Agbasi over Benjamin Asare in their Matchday 21 clash with Bechem United.
Agbasi proved decisive, keeping a clean sheet and pulling off several crucial saves to keep Bechem at bay at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
Speaking after the game, Didi Dramani said the move was aimed at creating a competitive culture within the club’s goalkeeping department.
“The reason is just to deload and then also to give Solomon game minutes. If we were in the FA Cup, then Solomon would have been playing in the FA Cup games.
“But there’s a need for you to deload Benjamin after three, four games, then you deload him so that you can build a very strong culture within our.” he said.
The result takes the Phobians to 36 points, level with Bibiani Gold Stars and Aduana FC, and sees them move above Asante Kotoko ahead of the Super Clash.
Bechem United remain 12th on the table with 26 points, three clear of the relegation zone.
