Chelsea FC manager Liam Rosenior has taken a dig at Jose Mourinho over his criticism of Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr as the fallout of the alleged racist incident involving Vinicius continues.

Vinicius was allegedly racially abused in Real Madrid’s 1-0 win over Benfica in Portugal in the UEFA Champions League. Benfica’s Argentine player Gianluca Prestianni has been fingered for racially abusing Vinicius.

In response to the incident after the game, former Chelsea boss Mourinho, who serves as Benfica’s head coach indicated that Vinicius instigated the racial abuse by calling for the Brazilian to celebrate “in a respectful way” (Scroll down to read full story)

Speaking in a press conference, Rosenior addressed the issue of racism while taking a shot at the controversial Portuguese coach.

“I have been racially abused myself. I know people that have and what people need to understand is… it is the worst thing.”

“If any player, any coach or any manager is found guilty of racism, they shouldn’t be in the game. It’s as simple as that.”

“Regardless of how a player celebrates, race should never come into it. I don’t know the context of the situation in which Jose [Mourinho] said what he said, so I won’t make a judgement on it. I won’t make judgement until I get the facts” Rosenior said.
