MTN FA Cup: Exiting competition early is embarrassing- Kotoko Coach

Kumasi Asante Kotoko assistant head coach Prince Owusu has described the club’s exit from the MTN FA Cup as embarrassing.

He said this after Kotoko lost 4-2 to Aduana Stars in the round of 16 stage of the competition at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Kotoko were the defending champions but the exit compounds the problems of the Porcupine Warriors who rank fifth in the Ghana Premier League.

“This means a lot to us, we are defending champions. The way things went…it was not that good for us, it was embarrassing but I think the boys did what they could do but it was not enough.”

“It’s Kotoko, we want to win, we have to win for Kotoko so it’s a lot of pressure definitely. Fans expect more than they’ve seen so I will not say that we’ve done a good job.”

“You saw the outcome of today’s game so we cannot say we did our best” Prince Owusu said in a post-game interview.

Kotoko turn attention to the league where they are scheduled to take on archrivals Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday, February 15 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
