Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry has a new running mate at the end of the NBA trade deadline with Latvian Center Kristaps Porzingis joining the club.
Porzingis, an NBA champion with the Boston Celtics, joins the Warriors from the Atlanta Hawks with Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield going in the opposite direction from the Warriors to the Hawks.
The 7 foot 2 inch Porzingis, was moved by Boston to Atlanta at the start of this season but struggled to stay healthy and played in just 17 games where he averaged 17.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 24.3 minutes.
Porzingis’ addition to the Warriors pretty much ended the team’s pursuit of a possible trade for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo who ended up sticking with the Bucks after being heavily linked to a move from Milwaukee.

Golden State at the time of writing, rank eighth in the Western Conference standings and are on course for a playoff spot via the play-in tournament.

Kuminga and Hield were productive in the Warriors rotation averaging 12.1 points and 5.8 rebounds and eight points respectively.
