Manchester United interim head coach Michael Carrick has stated that there is growth taking place in his squad as the club prepares to take on Tottenham Hotspurs on Saturday, February 7 at 12:30 GMT.
Since Carrick took over the head coaching role on an interim basis from Ruben Amorim, Man United have played three games and won all three games including victories over Manchester City and Arsenal.
Speaking ahead of the game, Carrick says the direction of the club was vague but that has cleared since he and his team took over coaching duties at Old Trafford.
“The first two games were standout games… in some ways that helped get the whole group focused and alive. Over time we got a vague idea of what we wanted to look like and since we’ve been here that becomes a lot clearer in what direction we want to go in and how we want to play.”

“We feel confident that we’ve got a lot of growth in the team and squad” Carrick said in a pre-game presser.

Man United’s three game winning run has moved the club to fourth place in the standings; Spurs rank 14th at the time of writing.
