Former Tottenham Hotspurs manager Ange Postecoglou has delivered scathing remarks about the London based side by tagging them as “not a big club”. (Scroll down to watch video)

He delivered the brutal assessment of Spurs while speaking on his time at the club on the Overlap’s Stick To Football Podcast in the presence of footballers turned pundits Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville.

Prior to the episode’s airing, Tottenham sacked Thomas Frank from the club’s head coaching role.

Postecoglou spent two seasons at Spurs and led the team to win the Europa League last season but got sacked after the title triumph after the club finished 17th in the league standings.

Speaking more on his statement that Spurs aren’t a big club, the Australian coach indicated that he wanted to sign players Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford and Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth but didn’t get either.

Mbeumo and Semenyo have since joined Manchester United and Manchester City respectively and have excelled in their new roles.

“When you walk into Tottenham, what you see everywhere is [the club’s motto] ‘To Dare Is To Do’ and yet their actions are almost the antithesis of that. I felt like Tottenham as a club were saying we’re one of the big boys and the reality is I don’t think they are.”

“I was looking at Pedro Neto and [Bryan] Mbeumo and [Antoine] Semenyo, Marc Guéhi. Those three teenagers- Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Wilson Odobert- are outstanding young players and they’ll be great players for Tottenham, but they’re not going to get you from fifth to third and fourth” Postecoglou said.
