Aston Villa have qualified to the Europa League quarter finals with the club scheduled to take on Italian side Bologna in the next round as Villa manager Unai Emery aims at winning another Europa League title in his career after doing so at Sevilla and Villarreal.

Villa qualified to the quarters after beating French side Lille 2-0 at home to score a 3-0 aggregate win with on-loan Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho delivering a standout performance that was capped off with an assist for John McGinn’s goal in the 54th minute.

In an interview with TNT Sports, Villa captain McGinn, lauded Sancho’s efforts by stating,

“It highlights Jadon’s performance, his best in a Villa shirt. He was man of the match tonight by a mile.”

On his part, Sancho was confident about Villa’s chances of making a deep run in the competition.

“We have got to take it game by game, it is a tough competition, Europe is very different. We stuck to the game plan, we worked hard on and off the ball, if we keep [doing] this I’m sure we can go very far in this competition” he said to TNT Sports
