Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has decried the lack of reward for his team’s hard work and creativity after the Blues lost in the English Premier League at its home venue.
The London club lost 1-0 to Newcastle at Stamford Bridge with England international Anthony Gordon scoring the game winner in the 18th minute.
This result comes ahead of crucial games for either team in the UEFA Champions League as Chelsea take on defending champions PSG trailing 5-2 on aggregate while Newcastle travel to Spain to take on Barcelona after drawing 1-1 in the first leg.
Speaking to the BBC after the loss, Liam Rosenior believed his team deserved better than a loss in a game that had Chelsea attempts 22 shots- their most attempts in a home game since April 2023.
“The result isn’t the one we wanted. We just lacked the cutting edge today.”

“At the moment, the lads aren’t getting what they deserve. We need to find ways to have more quality in the final third.”

“We tried to find a tactical solution rather than a personnel solution, and we didn’t do that this evening” Rosenior stated.
