At 16 years and 73 days old, Max Dowman became the youngest ever goal scorer in the history of the English Premier League after netting in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Everton at the Emirates Stadium.
Dowman came off the bench to score Arsenal’s second goal in the win in the 97th minute with fellow substitute Viktor Gyokeres scoring the first in the 89th minute.
The win keeps Arsenal atop the standings with seven league games remaining on the Gunners’ schedule as the club aims to win its first league title in 22 years.
After seeing Dowman make history with the game clinching goal, Viktor Gyokeres praised the teenager in an interview with Sky Sports stating,
“It’s incredible. You can see how he plays. He stays so calm and without fear every time he gets the ball.”

“He takes the right decision most of the time as well and with the goal, he definitely took the right one.”

“He’s an amazing player, it was a great goal for him and I’m so happy for him. When Max came on, I think you can feel that. We are behind him like we are behind every one of us. We play good.”
