Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch says the team’s inability to score affected them and played a big role in its loss to Galatasaray.
The Turkish side beat Liverpool 1-0 in Istanbul in the first leg of the round of 16 stage matchup with the loss compounding the pressure on Liverpool head coach Arne Slot.
Speaking to UEFA after the loss, the Dutch player indicated that the Reds’ inability to finish off chances in the first half led to the loss and made things difficult for them.
“What makes it so difficult? I think we make it difficult ourselves. From the first minute, we didn’t play a good game. I think we could score, in the first 10 minutes I think we had four chances and we didn’t make it.”

“Then if they score one with this defence and this atmosphere, it will be difficult. It was a poor game but next week we have Anfield so we need to be spot on then” he said.
