It was a lively and well-organised evening at the German Ambassador’s Residence on Monday night, as football fans gathered to watch Germany take on Ghana in an international friendly, with the match ending in a 2-1 victory for Germany at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart.
The atmosphere at the residence was electric, with fans dressed in the colours of both teams.
Some supporters proudly donned the Black Stars’ newly unveiled jerseys, set to debut at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Beyond the excitement, many attendees were keenly observing how both teams are shaping up ahead of the World Cup, particularly Ghana, who were looking to bounce back after conceding five goals in their previous game against Austria.
The watch party attracted a high-profile audience, including diplomats from Germany, renowned music artists such as Stonebwoy, Okyeame Kwame, and Wendy Shay, as well as top social media personalities like KalyJay and Latif Abdul. Former Black Stars player Anthony Baffoe was also in attendance, as the event drew a diverse and enthusiastic crowd.

Prior to the main event, activities ran from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, featuring training sessions and engagement programmes for young footballers.
The watch party itself kicked off in sync with the match, with Germany eventually securing a 2-1 win.
Speaking on the sidelines, German Ambassador to Ghana, Frederik Landshöft, expressed his delight at hosting the event and emphasised its significance in strengthening bilateral relations
“Football is a universal language. Between Germany and Ghana, it is a language of friendship. As we watch the game tonight, we see how deep the relationship between our two countries runs, both on and off the pitch.”
