Ghana’s international goalball referee David Tweneboah Koduah has commenced participation in the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Goalball Referees Clinic in Trakai, Lithuania, scheduled to run from March 16 to 24, 2026.

Koduah, who serves as Secretary General of the Ghana Blind Sports Federation, is also a Senior University Sports Coach at the University of Cape Coast and Head of Para Sports at the institution.

He remains one of Ghana’s leading figures in the development of goalball and para-sports, playing a key role in strengthening the sport both locally and internationally.

His participation in the clinic is expected to enhance his officiating capacity as he works toward regaining his Level 2 IBSA Goalball Referee certification. Koduah has previously demonstrated his expertise on the global stage, notably serving as an International Technical Official at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Training session ongoing in Lithuania

As part of the programme, Koduah is also scheduled to officiate in an international goalball tournament in Lithuania, an opportunity that will further boost his experience and exposure at the elite level.

The Ghana Blind Sports Federation has expressed confidence in his ability to excel during the training programme, noting that his continued progress reflects Ghana’s growing presence in international goalball officiating.

The Federation also acknowledged the support of the University of Cape Coast for sponsoring his participation, describing it as a major boost to the development of para-sports and technical officiating in Ghana.

Koduah’s involvement in the IBSA clinic highlights ongoing efforts to build capacity and position Ghana strongly within the global para-sports community.
