Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has won the first major trophy of his professional career following Manchester City’s victory in the Carabao Cup final.

City beat Arsenal 2-0, with Semenyo playing the full match. Nico O’Reilly scored twice in quick succession, finding the net in the 60th and 64th minutes to seal the win.

The triumph caps a remarkable rise for Semenyo, who began his journey in non-league football before completing a move from AFC Bournemouth to Manchester City earlier this year. He has since made his UEFA Champions League debut, featuring in a knockout tie against Real Madrid.

In a post on his X (former Twitter) page, Semenyo had a spiritual reaction to the big win over Arsenal by stating that, “All Glory to God in the Highest.”

The Carabao Cup win underlined Semenyo’s brilliant start at Man City after winning the English Premier League Player of the Month Award in February.

He is set to join Ghana’s Black Stars in camp for friendly games against Austria and Germany on March 27 and March 30, respectively.

All glory to God in the highest ❤️ https://t.co/2l69qz1u7C
