Brazil National Men’s Football Team head coach Carlo Ancelotti didn’t include superstar Neymar in his latest squad selection ahead of high profile international friendly games.
The Selecao are scheduled to take on France on Thursday, March 26 before taking on Croatia on April 1 in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup where Brazil have been drawn in Group C alongside Morocco, Haiti and Scotland.
Ahead of the friendlies, Ancelotti announced his squad but didn’t include Santos captain Neymar who is vying to play at the World Cup for the fourth time. Despite playing consistent minutes for the Brazilian club including Santos’ 1-1 draw with Corinthians, the former FC Barcelona playmaker wasn’t included in the Brazilian team.
“Neymar can go to the World Cup if he is 100%. Why didn’t I call Neymar now? Because he is not 100%; we need players who are 100%.

“Neymar has to keep working, playing, showing his qualities and good physical conditions” Ancelotti said about the situation according to CBF TV.

In four games in all competitions, Neymar has two goals and two assists for Santos.
