For the fifth game in a row in the Ghana Premier League, Medeama Sporting Club failed to register a win with the latest failure to grab a win coming in its tie against Hohoe United.
Medeama lost 2-1 at its TNA Stadium to the league debutants in the latest round of league games despite playing with a man advantage in the game.
The Mauve and Yellow had goal keeper Felix Kyei’s penalty kick attempt come off the post and also conceded an own goal in a bizarre run of events.
Despite the loss, Medeama held on to its one point lead atop the standings after second ranked Bibiani Gold Stars lost to Young Apostles.
Speaking after the loss to Hohoe, Tanko described it as a bad day for the team where nothing worked stating to the club’s media,

“I have been in this game for a long time and this kind of day happens sometimes because it’s not normal that you miss a penalty, you give away a goal and another own goal. Definitely it’s difficult for you to win.”

“We still have nine games to play, I think I have to meet with the players and then see the way forward” Tanko said.
