Real Madrid head coach Alvaro Arbeloa says he needs to do a better job at making Brahim Diaz a more prominent player in the team.
He said this in a presser ahead of Real Madrid’s Spanish La Liga game against Celta Vigo on Friday, March 6 after suffering back to back losses to Osauna and Getafe.
Losing twice in a row has resulted in Real Madrid’s slip from first place to second place and four points behind league leaders FC Barcelona.
Real Madrid are billed to take on Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 stage on Wednesday, March 11.
Despite starring at the 2025 AFCON by winning the silver medal and the top goal scorer award, Diaz has played a fringe role for Real Madrid since Arbeloa took over from Xabi Alonso as head coach and Arbeloa believes he can get the Moroccan international more involved.

“Surely he’s playing less than he deserves, and that’s my responsibility. I’m sure I can get much more out of him than I currently am.”

“It’s something I need to work on, and I will make the effort so that he can give us more than he is, because he has the ability to do so” Arbeloa said.
