Atalanta head coach Rafaele Palladino has stated that he needs guys like Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana more than ever as the club enters the crucial point of the season with Atalanta competing across three fronts.

The Italian side is seventh in the Italian Serie A standings at the time of writing and in contention for Europa League qualification.

Atalanta have been drawn to play against German side Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 stage and recorded a 2-2 draw with Lazio away from home in the first leg of the Italian Cup (Coppa Italia) semifinals in midweek.

Kamaldeen stepped off the bench in the 76th minute and went on to assist fellow substitute Yunus Musah’s goal and after seeing the impact of his substitutes, Palladino indicated that members in Atalanta’s second unit will be heavily needed in the final stretch of the season.

“Brilliant from Musah, a top impact off the bench. I need these lads who haven’t had as many minutes lately.”

“Musah, [Odilon] Kossounou, [Kamaldeen] Sulemana; everyone who’s had less game time. We’ve got a packed schedule and we’re competing on three fronts” Palladino said.

Sulemana has three goals and an assist in 30 games in all competitions largely as a fringe player this season. Sulemana is in line to be named in the Black Stars squad for friendly games against Austria and Germany later this month.
