Manchester City’s run in the UEFA Champions League is over after losing to Spanish side Real Madrid across two legs.
After losing 3-0 to Real Madrid in the first leg, Man City succumbed to a 2-1 loss at home to lose 5-1 on aggregate and crash out of the competition at the round of 16 stage. Vinicius Jr scored both goals in the second leg win.
In a contest where Man City were at a disadvantage, Pep Guardiola’s team were further handicapped by the dismissal of captain Bernardo Silva in the 20th minute when the score was goalless.
Speaking to Amazon Prime after the loss, Man City winger Jeremy Doku said the team has learnt a few things.
“This campaign will teach us some lessons, we will learn a lot for the future ones. We will analyse the game and see what we can do better. We’re disappointed with the loss but it’s a hard reality.”

“When you experience the games, it doesn’t feel like they were much better than us even though it looks it from the score line” he said.
