Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo has played his way into the history books of the NBA after scoring 83 points in the Heat’s latest win.

The Heat beat the Washington Wizards 150-129 with Adebayo scoring 83 points to become the player in NBA history to score the second most points.

He passed Kobe Bryant who scored 81 points in 2006 in a Los Angeles Lakers win over the Toronto Raptors.

However, Adebayo couldn’t top Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 point mark that leads the list of top scoring performances in the world’s best basketball league.

Speaking after the win that put Miami Heat in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings, Bam Adebayo said,

“It’s Wilt, me, then Kobe, which sounds crazy. I wish I could relive it twice. They-family and trainers-‘ve seen me at the lowest, at the bottom of the bottom, trying to figure out how to really pick myself up. To have this moment and share it with all them, it’s a pretty emotional moment.”
