Manchester City face a daunting task to qualify to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League after collapsing at the Santiago Bernabeu in Spain.
Man City lost 3-0 to Real Madrid in the round of 16 stage first leg with Federico Valverde scoring a hat-trick of goals in the first half.
However, Gianluigi Donnarumma saved Vinicius Junior’s penalty kick attempt to prevent City from conceding a fourth goal in the game.
Reflecting on the loss to the club’s media, Pep Guardiola pointed out the difference in the possible outcome for his team ahead of the second leg in light of Donnarumma’s save.
“Right now [are chances of reaching the quarterfinals are], not much. Of course we’re going to try and it is difficult right now. 3-0 is better than four, we cannot deny that.”

“I had the feeling that it was quite decent and well played. “We got into the box many times – when you are able to do that it means you have followed a good process” Pep Guardiola said.
