Liverpool  were denied all three points after a late equaliser from Richarlison earned Tottenham Hotspur F.C. a dramatic 1–1 draw in their Premier League clash at Anfield.

The home side looked set for victory after an early second-half strike from Dominik Szoboszlai had given Liverpool the lead, but Spurs struck deep into stoppage time to salvage a valuable point.

Liverpool dominated large spells of the game and nearly went ahead in the opening exchanges. Cody Gakpo came close midway through the first half when his long-range effort rattled the post after a slick attacking move.

The breakthrough eventually arrived in the 22nd minute. Szoboszlai stepped up to take a free-kick from about 30 yards and powered his effort over the wall and into the top corner, leaving Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario with little chance despite getting a hand to the ball.

Liverpool continued to press for a second goal, with the lively teenager Rio Ngumoha impressing on his first Premier League start. The youngster repeatedly troubled the Tottenham defence with his pace and direct running down the flank.

Spurs, however, gradually grew into the contest and began to create chances of their own before the break. Richarlison went close with a pair of headers, forcing a sharp save from Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker to keep the hosts in front.

Liverpool again looked the more dangerous side early in the second half. Substitute Mohamed Salah had a chance from a tight angle, while Hugo Ekitike also fired over the bar when well placed.

Despite their control, the Reds failed to kill the game off, and Spurs continued to threaten on the counter-attack.

With just minutes remaining, the visitors finally found their breakthrough. A long ball forward from Vicario caused confusion in the Liverpool defence, allowing Randal Kolo Muani to battle for possession before the ball fell kindly for Richarlison inside the box.

The Brazilian forward made no mistake, scuffing his shot past Alisson to spark wild celebrations among the travelling supporters and secure a dramatic late equaliser.

Liverpool almost snatched victory in the dying moments when Ekitike found space inside the area, but Spurs defender Radu Drăgușin produced a crucial block to preserve the draw.

The result leaves Liverpool frustrated after dropping points in a match they largely controlled, while Tottenham will take encouragement from a spirited late fightback as they continue their push to climb the Premier League table.
