She disclosed this on the sidelines of the launch of the 2026 APL Open on Monday, March 2 that attracted players, coaches and organizers of the competition. The tournament will run from March 3 to March 8.
The Billie Jean Cup is a highly rated international women’s tennis tournament and Shika Adu believes the return of the APL Open is timely in relation to preparations for the Billie Jane tournament.
“For the first time, this is going to be a ranking tournament but also it’s going to be a tournament that helps in preparation for the Billie Jean Cup this year.”

“This year we have over 43 ladies who made it to the draw…and we are looking forward to a very good experience.”

“This is a developmental project so for us…we wanted to make sure that we can celebrate all girls who are doing massively well in sports in Ghana” she said.
