President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has stated that his government will build three stadiums this year with the move set to be repeated in subsequent years.

He made this promise in his speech delivered at a Citizen Engagement in Sunyani during his tour of the Bono Region.

In his speech that touched on updates on several projects being undertaken in the region, President Mahama reiterated his government’s committment to deliver on its promise to improve sports infrastructure in the country by providing top level stadiums for all 16 regions.

“When you look at our manifesto, we stated that all regions that do not have stadiums will be provided with one. In this year’s budget, we have factored in the construction of three stadiums this year and we will do it every year so that every region will have its stadium.”
