Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has stated that the two-game ban on Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez still stands despite the latter apologising for his controversial statement regarding his admiration for Spanish side Real Madrid.
Fernandez was handed a two-game ban and has served one already in Chelsea’s 7-0 over Port Vale in the FA Cup quarterfinals.
However, Liam Rosenior stated in a press conference ahead of the team’s English Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday, April 12, that Enzo Fernandez has apologised for his comments but added that Fernandez will still serve the remainder of his ban.
“You can’t overstep the punishment for the mistake. I made a decision. What I want for Enzo is for him to go on and have an amazing career. He won’t play on Sunday.”

“There are certain values and cultures that I believe in that make the club stronger if you get them right” Rosenior said according to the BBC.

Chelsea ranks sixth in the league standings.
