Ghana has secured the rights to host the 2027 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), according to an announcement by Kurt Okraku.
The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) disclosed the development in a post on the social media platform, Facebook, confirming that Ghana will welcome the continent’s top youth teams for the tournament.

Ghana heads into the hosting role with a strong pedigree in the tournament, having won the U-20 AFCON four times, in 1993, 1999, 2009, and 2021. The Black Satellites remain one of the most successful teams in the competition’s history.
Over the years, Ghana has produced talents from the youth level who have gone on to excel at the senior national team level, the Black Stars.
The 2027 edition is expected to bring together the best young players across Africa, offering Ghana another opportunity to showcase its football infrastructure and organisational capacity on the continental stage.
