SL Benfica midfielder Richard Rios is opposed to a reunion between Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho.
The Colombian player expressed his hope that Benfica head coach Mourinho stayed with the club beyond this season and wave off reported interest from the Spanish club.
Multiple reports have linked Mourinho with a return to Real Madrid to address the chaotic coaching situation at the club.
Mourinho led Real Madrid to win the Spanish La Liga title and Spanish Cup (Copa del Rey) during his three year run at the club but Rios wants the former FC Porto coach to stick with Benfica a bit longer.
“I don’t know, to be honest. As far as I’m concerned, I hope not — I hope he stays with me. Every day I learn something new from him.”

“He’s got a formidable character and motivates you like no one else. His career is incredible; he’s been at it for years and has won everything. You never see him lose his drive” Rios said to Dario AS.

In his first year with Benfica on his second run out with the club, Mourinho’s side ranks second in the Portuguese League and remain unbeaten with three games left to play at the time of writing.
