Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has joked that his partner is not too pleased with the marks he picks up from Premier League defenders.

He made this comment after scoring in City’s 2-1 win over Arsenal in a key title clash. The victory keeps City firmly in the title race, cutting Arsenal’s lead at the top to three points with a game in hand.

Haaland endured a physical battle throughout the match, especially against Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães, even having to change his undershirt after it was torn in one of the duels.

The Norwegian has faced similar tough challenges this season against defenders such as Newcastle United’s Dan Burn and Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk.

While speaking after the win over Arsenal, Haaland revealed that his long-term girlfriend, Isabel, wasn’t happy about what EPL defenders are doing to her man’s body.

“I think my shirt got a bit pulled!. I didn’t get the foul, this is the Premier League nowadays. It’s wrestling here and there. A lot of duels. A lot of scratches.”

“Sometimes my missus is not so happy about this, it looks a bit wrong! But that’s the reality” Haaland said according to ESPN.
