For the fifth English Premier League game in a row, Chelsea Football Club lost without scoring a goal.
After losing back to back league games at home to Manchester United and Manchester City, Chelsea lost 3-0 to Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Seagulls’ big win over the Blues was wrapped up in the 91st minute by Danny Welbeck who scored his 13th league goal of the season raising hopes of a surprise call up to England’s 2026 FIFA World Cup team.
However for Chelsea, the loss add more pressure on head coach Liam Rosenior who was adamant that he and the playing body still connect.
“I have defended the players at times when it was the correct thing but I can’t defend that performance. I don’t feel there’s a disconnect between me and the players.”

“We work very closely with them in training, in individual meetings and team meetings. We are giving everything to the players. There is a lack of spirit and a lack of belief, which can create that perception” Rosenior said.
