Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick says his team still has a chance to qualify to the quarterfinal stage of the UEFA Champions League despite suffering a shock loss to Spanish rival Atletico Madrid at home.

Barcelona lost 2-0 to Atletico at the Camp Nou mere days after beating the same team 2-1 away from home in the Spanish La Liga.

Julian Alvarez scored a brilliant free kick a minute after Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsi was shown a red card in the 44th minute.

Striker Alexander Sorloth added Atletico Madrid’s second in the 70th minute but Flick isn’t giving up on the tie ahead of the second leg.

“We lost 2-0 but we have a good chance in Madrid. We don’t give up, we have a chance still.”

“I don’t know [about the red card], I’m not sure how much he [Pau Cubarsi] touched him. The ball was behind him.”

“Of course we believe [we can do it], second half we played well with one player less” Flick said according to the club’s media.
