Felix Afena-Gyan’s residence in Bergamo, Italy was broken into during the Ghana international player’s involvement in the Black Stars international friendly game against Mexico.
The former AS Roma player who helped Amedspor secure promotion to the Turkish Super League, featured in the friendly that had Ghana lose 2-0 to the 2026 FIFA World Cup co-host.
However, Afena-Gyan’s property in Italy was broken into and his personal belongings were taken in the process.
A release from the Italian Police released on Monday, May 25 indicated that the issue has been reported to the relevant authorities and investigations have commenced and that,
“We would like to reassure fans, well-wishers, and the general public that Felix is safe, physically unharmed and maintaining a positive mindset despite this unfortunate incident.”

A portion of the statement also stated that, Felix Afena-Gyan, “remains deeply grateful for the overwhelming support, concern and solidarity shown by fans in Ghana, Italy and across the world.”
