Medeama Sporting Club head coach Ibrahim Tanko has described his side’s 2-0 win over title rivals Bibiani Gold Stars as a “very good statement” in the title race.

Tanko made the remarks in his post-match press conference after Medeama defeated Gold Stars in a top-of-the-table clash in the Ghana Premier League.

Salim Adams, a contender for the Player of the Year award, scored both goals to take his tally to 11 for the 2025–2026 season.

The result moves Medeama five points clear of Gold Stars at the top of the table, with four matches remaining.

“It was a very good performance, 2-0 against your direct opponent, is a very good statement from the team. We still have four games to play.”

“We have to concentrate…we are playing again on Wednesday [against Berekum Chelsea]. We beat them [Gold Stars], we are happy but we have to concentrate on the next game” Tanko said.
