Ghana’s U-17 women’s national team, the Black Maidens, have progressed to the final round of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after defeating Liberia with an emphatic 8-0 aggregate scoreline.

The Maidens sealed qualification with a 2-0 victory in the second leg in Monrovia, following a dominant 6-0 win in the first leg in Accra.

Seidatu Wahab and Juliana Gyekyewaa were on target with brilliantly taken free kicks as Maidens secured another comfortable win and maintained their impressive form in the qualifiers.

The Black Maidens have been dominant throughout the campaign, having also defeated Togo 8-0 on aggregate in the opening round.

They have now scored 16 goals and conceded none in four qualifying matches, underlining their strength and consistency on the road to the World Cup.

Ghana will now take on Senegal in the final qualifying round for a place at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The first leg is scheduled to be played between July 3 and 5, while the return fixture will take place between July 10 and 12, 2026.

The winner of the two-legged tie will secure one of Africa’s qualification slots for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
