At just 22 years old, French star Victor Wembanyama will compete in the NBA Finals in just his third year competing in the NBA.
Wembanyama’s San Antonio Spurs beat NBA champions Oklahoma City Thunder 111-103 in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals to win the tough series 4-3.
Spurs will play in the Finals against the New York Knicks with Game One set to take place on Thursday, June 4 in San Antonio.

Wembanyama registered 22 points and seven rebounds off an efficient production where he scored seven of 15 field goal attempts and converted five of seven free throw attempts.
Like Wembanyama, all Spurs starters scored double digit in points with Julian Champagnie scoring 20 after converting six of 10 three point shot attempts in the game.

Speaking to reporters after leading Spurs to dethrone the defending champions, an emotional Wembanyama said,

“Winning the Larry O’Brien, it’s a childhood dream. Having a real shot at it, having a chance, tangible chance at winning it, realizing a dream. … The day we win it, speaking for myself, it’s going to be an amazing day of a realization of a dream.”

“I found resources inside of me [during this series]. Relentlessness. I already knew that, but doing it at this level, I mean, this is the best basketball on the planet that’s being played right now.”
