Ethan Ampadu, Brennan Johnson named in Wales Squad to face Ghana on June 2

Wales National Men’s Football Team will play an international friendly game against Ghana on June 2 in Cardiff as the Black Stars prepare to compete in this year’s World Cup.

Ahead of the game, Wales have released their squad to play the pre-2026 World Cup friendly game against the Black Stars. (Scroll down to view the full list of Welsh players called.)

The squad was announced on Tuesday, May 26 after Ghana’s squad was released on Monday, May 25. 28 players were named in the Black Stars squad with two players expected to be dropped ahead of the World Cup.

Ghana has qualified to compete in this year’s World Cup with the Black Stars drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.

The Welsh group is led by Leeds United defender Ethan Ampadu, who is of Ghanaian descent, captain Ben Davies of Tottenham Hotspurs and Brennnan Johnson of Crystal Palace.

Regulars Chris Mempham, Kiefer Moore and Neco Williams of Nottingham Forest were also included in the squad to take on Ghana.

Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz named Baba Rahman in his pre-World Cup squad alongside Ernest Nuamah who played just three games this season while recovering from an ACL injury.
