Manchester United interim head coach Michael Carrick has stated that taking on archrivals Liverpool is one of his “favourite” games.
He made this comment in a press conference ahead of Man United’s English Premier League clash against Liverpool on Sunday, May 3 at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils rank third in the league standings with 61 points three more than fourth ranked Liverpool ahead of the big clash.
Carrick, a Man United legend, played several games against Liverpool and relished the opportunity to have another go against the Reds.
“It’s certainly always been one of my favourite games, without a doubt. It is a standout game.”

“There are obviously big games and rivalries that we have with other teams, but this one is certainly right up there because of the history…the emotion. All of those things make it a really special game.”

“When I think about this game, the first thing that comes to mind is that air of competition really, irrespective of league positions over the years” Carrick said.
