Liverpool FC head coach Arne Slot says his side is focused on finishing as high as possible after falling out of the English Premier League title race.
Slot made the remarks ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, May 3.
With the title out of reach, both sides are now pushing for a UEFA Champions League spot. United sit third on 61 points, three ahead of fourth-placed Liverpool, making the fixture a crucial test in the race for qualification.
A win for either side would significantly boost their chances, a target Slot insists remains Liverpool’s priority.
“We are aware that it is a very big game. Not only because we play Man United, but to qualify for the Champions League and to get the highest possible league position.”

“We wanted to win the league – that is not possible – so we are trying to finish as high as possible. A win [which could secure a top-five finish] is the right step forward. It is an important step, it is definitely not a step backwards” Slot said.
