Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has commended defender Patrick Asiedu for reporting an alleged attempt to bribe him in the lead up to the final round of the recently concluded 2025-2026 Ghana Premier League campaign.
Kotoko lost 2-1 to Swedru All Blacks at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi to finish eighth in the league standings while the win was enough for All Blacks to stay in the league after flirting with relegation.
In the lead up to the game, reports were rife that Patrick Asiedu had reported an incident concerning a bribe allegedly offered to him.
Following the game, Kotoko management announced that the club has launched an investigation into the incident via a statement. (Scroll down to read full statement)
“The Board and Management Asante Kotoko Sporting Club…held a meeting with the players and technical team to discuss the team’s disappointing performance during the 2025-2026 season.”

“The Board and Management commend Patrick Asiedu for his professionalism, integrity and commitment to the values of Asante Kotoko by promptly bringing the allegations to the attention of the club” a section of the club’s statement read.
