Medeama Sporting Club head coach Ibrahim Tanko has pointed to the bad state of the pitch at the Berekum Golden City Park for the loss to Berekum Chelsea.

Tanko made this known in his post-game presser after Medeama’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea in midweek, with the loss reducing the Mauve and Yellow’s lead in the league standings.

Following the loss to Chelsea, Medeama have 56 points with three games remaining in the season, while close contender Bibiani Gold Stars have 54 points after beating FC Samartex 2-0.

Speaking to the club’s media after the loss, Tanko was less than impressed with the poor state of the pitch.

“The pitch did not help us and you could see that we made a lot of unusual mistakes at the back. Look at the two goals we conceded after scoring a very good from Kelvin Nkrumah.”

“We still have three games and it [the battle for the title] is always going to be like that until the last game” Tanko said.
