Santos FC forward Neymar Dos Santos Jnr shared his thoughts amid joyful tears after getting named in Brazil’s squad to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. (Scroll down to watch Neymar’s reaction)
The veteran player’s dream of competing in his fourth World Cup came true after Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti included the country’s record goal scorer in the squad despite Neymar last featuring for the national team since 2023.
Neymar’s inclusion came at the expense of Chelsea’s Player of the Year Joao Pedro who didn’t make the cut despite registering 20 games and nine assists in 49 games.
Neymar on the other hand, has six goals and four assists in 15 games at the time of writing and Joao Pedro shared his “frustrations” on missing out. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

After playing at the 2014, 2018 and 2022 World Cups, Neymar spoke about the upcoming competition stating on social media,

“We will fight with our lives to bring the World Cup back to Brazil. We will give our life to bring the Cup back to Brasil. It’s incredible what happened. Another World Cup. How I can’t be emotional.”
