Brazil forward Joao Pedro has been named the winner of Chelsea’s Player of the Year Award for the 2025-2026 season with the announcement coming in the wake of Pedro’s shocking omission from Brazil’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad. (Scroll down to view the full squad)
Pedro excelled in his first season at the club after joining the Blues ahead of the present campaign from Brighton and Hove Albion. He joined Chelsea for the maiden edition of the new FIFA Club World Cup format that had Chelsea win it after beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final.
With just a game left to conclude the season, Pedro has registered 20 goals and nine assists in 49 games in all competitions. However, this level of production wasn’t enough to convince Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti to include him in his squad for next month’s World Cup.

Pedro and Chelsea teammate Andrey Santos lost out on a place in the squad to the likes of Neymar Jr of Santos FC.
