Despite spending close to a decade at Manchester United, Marcus Rashford didn’t win the English Premier League title but in his season long loan at FC Barcelona, the script got flipped in the biggest way.

The Englishman, on loan at Barcelona from Man United, scored a fine free-kick to lead Barcelona to score a 2-0 win over archrivals Real Madrid in the El Clasico and in the process clinch the 2025-2026 Spanish La Liga title.

The goal was Rashford’s 14th with three games remaining in the campaign; in 47 games in all competitions, the 28 year old also has 14 assists to his credit.

Beating Real Madrid put Barcelona 14 points clear of second ranked Real Madrid after 35 league games played marking the second season in a row that Hansi Flick has led the club to the title.

Rashford’s future remains very much uncertain as a return to Man United is very likely but the winger wasn’t ready to think about that after the game where he stated according to the BBC that,

“I don’t know. I’m not a magician but if I was I would stay at Barcelona. We will see. Football is unpredictable but for now, I will just enjoy it, live in the moment and reassess at the end of the season and see what is possible.”
