Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur, is adamant that winners of the prestigious competition are always motivated to excel in the CAF Confederation Cup.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports ahead of this year’s final between Dreams FC and Nations FC on Sunday, May 31 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

The winner of the upcoming tie will qualify to compete in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup as Ghana’s representative in the continental championship.

The matchup between the Ghana Premier League sides on May 31 involves former winners Dreams FC who went all the way to the 2024 CAF Confederation Cup semifinals before crashing out to Egypt’s Zamalek and Wilson Arthur believes something similar is very likely to happen with this year’s winners.

MTN FA Cup Chairman Wilson Arthur

“The motivation is always there-to do well in the Confederation Cup-; any team that gets to that level performs. Dreams (FC) have done the best so far, they got to the semifinals…this year when we get to that level we will do well” Arthur said.
