Manchester City Head coach Pep Guardiola has suggested he is likely to remain at Manchester City FC next season, offering his clearest indication yet about his future amid increasing speculation.

Reports in recent days have pointed to uncertainty over whether Guardiola will continue beyond the current campaign, despite his contract running until June 2027 with the growing speculation that this could be his final season after nearly a decade in charge.

However, speaking to Sky Sports, Guardiola struck a forward-looking tone, highlighting the team’s development and suggesting further progress lies ahead.

” The road that we have taken together this season, this year. And yeah, the job has been good. I’ve been, you know new players.

And I see the team, how it grew up, you know, through the month. And we are better than we were two or three months ago. And next season, we’ll be better”

His reference to “next season” is likely to be seen as a significant signal that he intends to stay, even as rumours about a possible departure continue to circulate.

Guardiola also emphasised the importance of squad evolution, explaining how working with new players continues to motivate him despite the natural cycle of departures within the team.

“Working with new players is like being involved in the club, yeah and  I would love to have some players from many, many years, you know, that they had in the past.
But the people get old and change. So, it’s normal. Speaking of players moving on, getting a little bit older, two more will be leaving at the end of this season”

The City manager acknowledged that changes within the squad are inevitable, with players moving on and others coming in, but suggested that this process has helped refresh the team.

Under his leadership this season, Manchester City have integrated several new players, with Guardiola noting a steady improvement in performances over recent months. He indicated that the team is now in a stronger position than earlier in the campaign.

While no official decision has been announced regarding his future, Guardiola’s comments provide an indication of continuity at a time when uncertainty had begun to grow.
