Medeama Sporting Club head coach Ibrahim Tanko says midfielder Salim Adams fully deserves the recognition he is receiving as the Mauve and Yellow close in on the 2025–2026 Ghana Premier League title.
Adams has been a standout performer this season, registering 11 goals and one assist in 26 league appearances. He underlined his importance again by scoring both goals in Medeama’s 2-0 win over title rivals Bibiani Gold Stars in the latest round of matches.
The former Accra Hearts of Oak player is now widely seen as the leading contender for the league’s Player of the Year award.
He has also been tipped as a potential call-up to the Ghana national football team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Tanko backing the 23-year-old as deserving of the growing praise.

“He is a professional player; definitely he worked for the hype that he is getting now. I hope that he will continue to do that [because] every game is a very tough game from now on.”

“He is one player who is strong in mentality so I hope he will stay fit and keep on giving us the necessary goals we need” Tanko said.

Medeama takes on Berekum Chelsea in Berekum on Wednesday, May 6.
