The New York Knicks carried their playoff momentum into the second round with a dominant 137-98 Game One win over the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden.
The result follows their historic 51-point victory over the Atlanta Hawks in the opening round.
Jalen Brunson led the charge with 35 points in just 31 minutes, while Joel Embiid had a quiet outing, finishing with 14 points and four rebounds.
Speaking after the game, Brunson welcomed the strong start but stressed that the Knicks remain focused on improving as the series progresses.
“I don’t think we’re going to see that team, from Game 1 to Game 2.”
“There’s never a time when you look back and say, we’re good now, we don’t have to continue to work and continue to get better. It’s not the case at all” Brunson said.
Game 2 of the series stays in New York and takes place on Wednesday, May 6.
