Thomas-Asante is very likely to be named in Ghana’s 26 man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after making it to the 28 man group to play against Wales.

The London born player scored 13 goals and added four assists in 34 games this season and played a key role in Coventry City’s promotion to the English Premier League.

Describing the chance to play for Ghana as a big opportunity, the 27 year old praised recently appointed Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz by stating,

“I’m happy to be here and we definitely want to prepare in the right way to go and be successful. It’s always the biggest privilege (to play for Ghana). It’s something that since I was young…to believe that I was going to achieve it one day and now to be here is incredible.”

“He-Carlos Queiroz- is a very good guy. All of us, we are listening to how he wants us to play and understanding his ideas. It’s been a blessing.”
