Bibiani Gold Stars administrative manager Joseph Oti Manu has slammed the negative reaction to Gold Stars striker Samuel Atta-Kumi’s six goal outing against Eleven Wonders.
Atta-Kumi scored six goals in the final round of games in the 2025-2026 Ghana Premier League campaign in Gold Stars’ 8-3 win.
His big scoring outing improved his tally to 19 league goals which put him above Augustine Okrah of Bechem United in the scorers’ chart.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports after the game that brought up serious questions about the integrity of the GPL, Oti Manu called on stakeholders to change their mindset.
“It’s a question people having been calling me, texting me, asking why and how can a player score six goals?

“We won 8-3 and we believe it was the best of game we played and I don’t know why people have that mindset of believing one player cannot score six goals.”

“If (Lionel) Messi, (Erling) Haaland, (Cristiano) Ronaldo scored all those goals, you people will be hyping them…so when a local player scores six goals you have a problem with it? We should change our mindset” Oti Manu said.
