Just a day after Karl Lennart was ruled out of competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup to injury and got replaced by RB Leipzig’s Assan Ouedraogo, Brazil midfielder Ederson has been called up to the Selecao as an injury replacement.
Ederson was named as the replacement for right full back Wesley who picked up an injury in Brazil’s 2-1 win over Egypt this past weekend.
Atalanta midfielder Ederson is bound to leave the Italian Serie A club for English Premier League side Manchester United after the World Cup.
He is reportedly Man United’s first signing of the offseason with the Red Devils agreeing on a four year deal worth $47 million deal with five million dollars in potential add-ons with Atalanta.
